This work began several years ago when Healthy Contra Costa partnered with residents to create a Neighborhood Plan for Richmond’s Las Deltas Neighborhood. Community members shared a bold vision: restore the former Las Deltas neighborhood and create affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.
That vision became reality when the Housing Authority agreed to transfer several properties to nonprofit organizations for just $1 each, with the commitment that they would be rebuilt and returned to the community as affordable homes. RCF Connects was honored to have our proposal approved, allowing us to acquire and restore these properties while creating lasting opportunities for first-time homebuyers.
Today, those dreams are taking shape.
In partnership with the Housing Authority of Contra Costa County, CHDC, Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services and a generous donation from the Richmond Golf Club, our newest homes are a shining example of what is possible when community vision, public investment, and nonprofit leadership come together. Thanks in part to support from the California Department of Energy, these homes feature advanced energy-efficient designs that help homeowners save money while reducing environmental impact. They are truly modern, beautiful, and, as many visitors have said, “HGTV worthy.”
