In Loving Memory of Joe Fisher

A Champion for Homeownership, Community, and Hope

It is with deep sadness that the RCF Connects family mourns the passing of our dear friend, partner, and community champion, Joe Lee Fisher, who passed away on July 1, 2026.

For many years, Joe was far more than a respected Realtor. He was a trusted guide, a mentor, and a tireless advocate for families who dreamed of becoming homeowners. Through his partnership with the Richmond Housing Renovation Program, Joe helped transform that dream into reality for countless first-time homebuyers throughout Richmond.

Buying a home can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time buyers. Joe understood that. He never simply sold houses. His calm presence and genuine care gave people the confidence to believe that homeownership was within reach.

Joe’s work perfectly reflected the mission of RCF Connects. Together, we believed that revitalizing neighborhoods begins by investing in people. Through the Richmond Housing Renovation Program, families were able to purchase beautifully renovated homes that strengthened neighborhoods, built generational wealth, and created lasting opportunities. Joe became an indispensable part of that vision, helping many of those homes become places where new memories, traditions, and futures could begin.

Perhaps Joe’s greatest legacy was his unwavering belief that everyone deserved the opportunity to own a home. Long before conversations about closing the racial wealth gap became commonplace, Joe understood that homeownership created stability, dignity, and a pathway to generational wealth. He lived that belief every day by helping families overcome obstacles and celebrating each successful closing as if it were his own.

Those of us at RCF Connects will remember Joe not only for his professionalism but for his warmth, his infectious smile, his generous spirit, and the genuine joy he found in serving others. His partnership helped shape the Richmond Housing Renovation Program into more than a housing initiative. Together, we helped families put down roots, revitalize neighborhoods, and invest in the future of Richmond.

Joe often reminded us that communities are built one family at a time. His life’s work stands as proof of that belief.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Maxine, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives he touched throughout Richmond and beyond.

Thank you, Joe, for believing in our community.

Thank you for opening doors, literally and figuratively, for so many people.

Your legacy lives on in every family that proudly calls Richmond home.

You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always appreciated.

Rest in peace, Joe Fisher.
