RCF Connects Office Closed March 31 in Honor of Farmworkers Day
Dear Community,
On March 31, our office will be closed as we honor what we now call Farmworkers Day.
This day recognizes one of the most important struggles for dignity and labor rights in our nation’s history. It is a time to reflect on the courage of farmworkers who stood up for fair pay, safe working conditions, and basic human rights.
We also want to acknowledge the reports and revelations about Cesar Chavez. As we hold this fuller understanding, we lift up and stand in respect and solidarity with Dolores Huerta and the many women who have always been at the heart of the labor movement.
It is so important that on the last day of Women’s History Month, we fully recognize that women have led, organized, and sustained the farmworker movement in powerful ways. Their voices and leadership have helped move justice forward for generations. We are committed to recognizing and uplifting their contributions.
Farmworkers Day is about the broader fight for civil rights and dignity for all people. It is a reminder that this work continues today.
In that spirit, we will be observing this day by closing our offices.
