In observance of Juneteenth, RCF Connects’ offices are closed on Wednesday, June 19th.
It’s a great time to celebrate and reflect on what this day means for all of us. Juneteenth, short for June 19th, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It’s a day of freedom, remembrance, and resilience—a reminder of the ongoing journey towards equality and justice for all.
At RCF Connects, we believe deeply in the idea that “none of us are truly free until everyone is free.” Under our mission of convening, facilitating, and funding, we at RCF are committed to building a more just and equitable society. What does that look like in action? It means actively challenging and disrupting racist, biased, and discriminatory practices and policies. It means amplifying the voices of our community to drive meaningful change from the ground up.
Our ultimate goal is to empower community members by placing power squarely in their hands, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. By facilitating the development of infrastructure and providing operational support to grassroots programs and partnership initiatives, we empower communities to advocate for themselves and shape their own futures.
As we observe Juneteenth, let’s reflect on the progress we’ve made and recommit ourselves to the work that lies ahead. Together, we can create a future where freedom and justice are truly accessible to all. Happy Juneteenth from all of us at RCF Connects—here’s to celebrating freedom and building a brighter tomorrow, hand in hand.
