One night of nothing but R&B comes to Pittsburg’s historic California Theatre on October 9, with all proceeds funding programs for Black women and girls in Contra Costa County
RCF Connects announces Pagers & Promises: An R&B Pop-Up, a live music fundraiser taking place Friday, October 9, 2026, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the California Theatre in downtown Pittsburg. All proceeds will support Equity for Black Women & Girls (E4BWG), RCF Connects’ initiative investing directly in Black women and girls across Contra Costa County.
The evening features DJ G-Money of In the Mix performing an all-R&B set, hosted by Christina Kenney, known onstage as Emcee Inhergy. Named for the era of beepers, three-digit codes, and taking someone at their word, Pagers & Promises trades the traditional fundraising gala format for a dance floor.
Black women and girls in this county hold everything together and are asked for more than they are ever given. E4BWG supports three core programs: Sistas SOAR, which builds economic power and entrepreneurship; Sister Circles, which creates space for community and peer support; and Embodied Leadership Coaching, which invests in the wellbeing of women carrying leadership responsibilities in their families, workplaces, and communities.
