Honoring Dr. King in a Time That Demands Courage

Martin Luther King's more radical and revolutionary quotes

Our Dear Friends,

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., not with platitudes, not with comfort, but with honesty.

Dr. King warned us against the idea of “outside agitators.” He reminded us that no one living in this country is an outsider anywhere within it. That truth matters right now.

Across the country, people are being told they don’t belong. Communities are being divided on purpose.
Even more distressing is that history is being rewritten and erased. Dr. King also told us something many still don’t want to hear. The realization that America is still a racist country, unpleasant but being proven true every hour of every day.

At RCF Connects, we see this reality every day. We see this in recognizing who has access, who is heard and believed, and ultimately who is protected . . . and who is not. Our work exists because connection is not guaranteed, opportunity is not evenly shared, and justice does not happen on its own.

RCF Connects is proud to say that we support leaders and organizations who refuse to look away.
We are committed to those who stay rooted in community and show up even when it is hard, unpopular, and dangerous.

This moment calls for clarity. It calls for courage. And it calls for action, not silence.

RCF Connects is committed to standing with our neighbors because, like Dr. King, we refuse to live with the narrow, provincial ‘outside agitator’ idea. We are devoted to funding truth-tellers and strengthening the connections that make justice, belonging, and real change possible. We hope that you stand with us.

Thank you for continuing this work with us—not just today—but for the last 25 years, and hopefully for the next 25 years to come.

In solidarity and hope,
RCF Connects
